The city of Leuven is centuries-old and yet very much alive. Leuven is located close to Brussels. It has over 90,000 inhabitants. The city is, amongst other things, well known for its Catholic University, its famous brewery of Stella Artois and its nightlife. Saint Peter's church, the city hall, the Old Market and the Museum M are also tourist attractions. Every year, the Marktrock music festival draws thousands of visitors. Leuven is also the gateway to tourist regions such as Hageland and the Groene Gordel (Green Belt).
